Mendrek’s Revenge
In the year 1368 DR a group of adventurers formed in Moondale. The group had three minstrels and a priest of Melil so they took the name of the Company of the Evening Song. After a whirlwind tour of the Dales including the outskirts of Myth Drannor the majority of the Company ended up passing through a portal stone that left them somewhere near Neverwinter on the northern Sword Coast. The lone exception was the bounty hunter Mendrek, who had gone to clear the name of his mark, a member of the Evening Song who had been wrongly accused of murder. While traveling to Cormyr he happened upon the campsite of a couple of travelers. He hailed them and was warmly welcomed to their camp. They fed him and while Syray kept him occupied Pranik hit him with a cudgel sending him into dark oblivion. When he woke up it was to a nightmare. His captors introduced themselves as the Hell’s Patrol. Most of the time he can remember with the Hell’s Patrol he was tortured by one of three people. The assassin Pranik the sly, golden haired Syray a necromancer and the bestial priest Raythok of Malar took turns tormenting him. The Hell's Patrol took him with them when they unknowingly traveled through the same portal stone that the Company of the Evening Song had. Mendrek watched in helpless frustration as they slaughtered a country nobleman and his family so they could use his mansion as a new base of operations. Fortunately his one of the servants got away and notified the authorities in Neverwinter. The Company of the Evening Song overheard and volunteered to help. They freed Mendrek but the Hell's Patrol got away. The Company of the Evening Song went their separate ways shortly after that. Over time Mendrek has managed to track down a few of the original members and gather a few hardy souls to aid him in his quest to bring the Hell's Patrol to justice.
